Conducted biometric screens at assigned clients. Biometric tests include a finger stick OR venipuncture blood draw, as well as taking blood pressure, height, weight and percent body fat and waist circumference measurements.

Tobacco Prevention Team

Beacon Health- South Bend, IN - December 2015 to October 2016 

This position provides coordination of the implementation strategy in accordance with Tobacco Prevention and Control best practices. 

 

Enrolled culturally diverse participants by offering education, support and guidance in the tobacco prevention program.

Conducted and organized community trainings on tobacco prevention.

Attended collaborator meetings and other social services agencies to present program metrics.

Developed educational materials and curriculum to use in tobacco prevention programming.

Established a trusting relationship with culturally diverse participants by initiating and maintaining consistent client contact.

       Tobacco Prevention Strategic Initiatives Coordinator (TPC)

Community Wellness Partners - South Bend, IN - December 2015 to October 2016 

 

As the Tobacco Prevention Strategic Initiatives Coordinator, coordinated the identification and execution of the City of South Bend's tobacco prevention and control programmatic and policy priorities based on research, evaluation metrics, and budget (Article 13 Ordinance - Passed). 

Coordinated with and secure input from the Smoke Free St Joe coalition to ensure their guidance was integrated into program strategy and implementation. 

Provided management of the implementation strategy designed by Smoke Free St Joe in accordance with Tobacco Prevention and Control best practices.

Ensured compliance with the American Lung Association's (ALA) agreement and assure the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of quality assurance reports.

Ensured the components of the initiative's benchmarks are data-driven, evidence-based, and responsive to epidemiological evaluation findings and recommendations.

Ensured long-term sustainability of tobacco prevention and control efforts in St Joseph County by aligning educational presentations with distinct policies and mandates. 

Recruited new and cultivated existing partners, both traditional and nontraditional to broaden the potential reach and impact of the implementation plan. 

Ensured coordinated and seamless approach with Smoke Free St Joe's communication plan for tobacco prevention and control to integrate Indiana Tobacco Quit Line (ITQL) and program components.

Appreciate their existing body type while gaining insight to improve overall health.

Learn that a reduction of calorie consumption in almost any form will result in weight loss, however, conceptually acknowledging that the ability to keep weight off depends on the longevity of a healthy lifestyle, increased muscle mass, and some form of daily exercise. 

Exercised; whereas several aerobic exercise formats were introduced to help them decide which activity best suits their preference and lifestyle. 

Adopt a system of selecting proper foods to maximize results so that commitment levels to their newfound lifestyle will continue to thrive.
